Jan-Ove has a great interest for the strategic part of immaterial properties, and the focus of the work is how correct establishment of rights may improve the competitive position of the company.
Jan-Ove has been connected to Acapo and worked with patents since 1995. He handles all types of matters within the area of patent law, such as preparation and processing of patent applications in Norway and abroad, assessment of infringements and enforcement of rights, consultancy in matters of conflict and for the Court, and general handling of IP portfolios. His special field is within chemistry, medicine and biotechnology, and he has broad experience in handling matters within fish farming and feed technology.
Jan-Ove has a cand.scient degree in biochemistry from the University of Bergen (UoB), and has research experience from UoB and the University of Boston. The business aspect is important when assessing immaterial properties, and Jan-Ove has an interest for the economic part, and has a degree in economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. Jan-Ove was the company manager in the period 2000-2005.
Jan-Ove is a European Patent Attorney and partner in Acapo, and is a member of the Norwegian Patent Engineers Association, FICPI and EPI.
